Key Responsibilities

The Shelfpacker role involves a variety of operational and customer-facing duties, including:

• Ensuring compliance with general merchandise standards and company regulations
• Maintaining hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working conditions in both the sales floor and back-up areas
• Adhering to security procedures and monitoring merchandise standards
• Conducting quality checks and rotating stock, removing damaged or expired items
• Preventing wastage, shrinkage, and product damage
• Verifying correct pricing and labeling of merchandise
• Approaching and assisting customers courteously, providing information and support as needed
• Performing routine tasks to consistently high standards and demonstrating a sense of urgency in completing tasks

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
• 2–3 years of retail experience is an added advantage
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to pass competency assessments and interviews
• Flexibility to work shifts and be transferred between stores if needed
• Authorization for a full credit and criminal check
• Valid South African ID
• Reside close to Somerset Mall
