A global customs compliance specialist seeks a flexible, self-motivated and proactive Employment Relations Specialist. Your role will entail providing employment relations advisory services to internal stakeholders, assisting in the application of ER policies and procedures, and enabling a fair, respectful and high-performance culture. The Employee Relations Specialist must be a trusted subject matter expert that draws internal and external insights to advance and create knowledge that benefits the management of people. The ideal candidate must have an LLB or advances HR Degree, 6 months to 2 years of post-qualified experience in the employment department, demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation, and experience in labour-related work.
Duties:
- Advise Human Capital Specialists (HCS), line managers and employees on labour relations matters.
- Coordinate internal dispute resolution measures, grievances, disciplinary processes and other labour-related matters; ensuring that due process is followed.
- Partner with the HCS to ensure proper handling of employee complaints and workplace issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with the HCS to ensure constant co-operation.
- Oversee performance management and coaching of staff in consultation with the HCS.
- Develop and implement measures to promote sound employment relations.
- Develop, implement, maintain and monitor labour relations policies.
- Keep abreast of changes and development in the labour relations environment.
- Empower management and staff on labour relations matters through ongoing training and development.
- Prepare case evidence for CCMA matters and where required represent the Company at the CCMA (with guidance).
- Ensure effective tracking of all ER cases.
- Reporting on ER cases; identify trends and risks, share insights and propose solutions, as required.
- Employment Contract Addendums.
- Independent Contractor/Other Agreements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (preferred) or an advanced HR Degree.
- Six months – two years post-qualified experience (PQE) in the employment department.
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation.
- Experience in labour-related work.
