Cape Union Mart is seeking a motivated Permanent Sales Assistant for its Gateway Mall store in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. This entry-level retail role offers the opportunity to develop sales skills while contributing to a leading outdoor and lifestyle brand.

Job Purpose

You will support the store in driving sales, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining stock controls, and creating an inspiring shopping environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Exceed customer expectations by applying effective selling techniques.
• Adhere to store stock loss controls and procedures.
• Consistently meet individual sales targets.
• Identify opportunities to increase turnover and maximise sales.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and uphold visual merchandising guidelines.
• Process all purchases, including cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and other approved payments.
• Ensure all outgoing stock and items are scanned and paid for.
• Manage loyalty card transactions, including accelerated partner cards.
• Build professional relationships with customers and provide courteous assistance and advice.
• Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
• Address customer stock queries and ensure resolution.

• Knowledge of current clothing trends and outdoor lifestyle products.
