Key Responsibilities
- Register and assist patients according to established standards.
- Help patients complete medical forms, including medical aid documentation.
- Maintain clinical equipment, stationery, and medication inventory.
- Inform patients of clinic procedures and manage their records accurately.
- Open and maintain new patient files, ensuring all information is correct.
- Process medical aid payments and move patients through appointments as scheduled.
- Obtain medical reports when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area to protect patient privacy.
- Answer incoming calls promptly using proper telephone etiquette.
- Take accurate messages and ensure calls are transferred to the correct staff member.
- Assist walk-in guests with appointments, meetings, or deliveries.
- Provide relevant information to patients, guests, and callers regarding queries.
- Respond to patients in distress and emergencies.
- Advise patients on medical aid authorization procedures and follow up as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- South African citizen
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Clear criminal and credit record
- Dedicated work station (desk-based role)
- Driver’s license and/or reliable transport
