The programme leads to a Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4 qualification. Learnership Qualification
Successful candidates will complete:
• FETC: Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4
The qualification combines formal learning with workplace experience, allowing learners to gain practical skills while working within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Learners may be exposed to various areas within the Discovery Health Service Team, including:
• Medical aid client servicing
• Claims administration and processing
• New business administration
• Health benefits administration
• Customer service support
• Handling client enquiries and requests
• Updating and maintaining customer records
• Assisting with administrative functions
• Supporting operational teams with daily tasks
• Learning insurance and financial services processes
Requirements And Skills
• Grade 12 / Matric qualification
• Mathematics with a minimum Level 4 (50%) achievement
• English with a minimum Level 4 (50%) achievement
• Mathematical Literacy with a minimum Level 5 (60%) achievement
• Second language with a minimum Level 4 (50%) achievement
• Incomplete tertiary qualification will be advantageous
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English
• Basic computer literacy including MS Excel and MS Outlook
• Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good planning and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Customer service orientation and positive attitude
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
• Be a person living with a disability
• Be between 18 and 25 years old
• Not be employed in formal employment
• Not be studying after Matric at the time of application
• Not have completed a previous learnership programme
• Be eager to build a career within the financial services sector
