Job Overview

The Storeman will be responsible for receiving, storing and managing stock while maintaining accurate inventory levels within the branch. The role includes handling tools and machinery, supporting stock control processes and ensuring products are stored safely and efficiently. You will work closely with the sales and warehouse teams to maintain high operational standards and provide excellent service to customers. This position is suited to someone who is organised, reliable and committed to maintaining an efficient warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and store incoming stock.
• Manage inventory and maintain accurate stock records.
• Ensure the safe handling and storage of tools and machinery.
• Assist with merchandising and product displays.
• Perform regular stock counts and stock taking activities.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages when necessary.
• Support stock control and warehouse organisation.
• Operate a forklift safely where required.
• Assist customers with product enquiries when needed.
• Follow retail branch procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment.
• Support the branch team with general operational duties.

Requirements and Skills

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Valid forklift licence.
• Previous experience in a retail or warehouse environment will be advantageous.
• Experience with merchandising and stock control.
• Knowledge of stock taking procedures.
• Good customer service skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Reliable, honest and self-motivated.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.
• Saturdays, 08:00 to 13:00.
