About the Position
As a Cashier at Dis-Chem Sandton City, you will play a vital role in ensuring customers enjoy a seamless and professional shopping experience. You will be responsible for processing transactions accurately, supporting customer service at the point of sale, and upholding the company’s high standards of operational excellence and security.

Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures
- Establish professional relationships with customers
- Report customer complaints and compliments to Frontline Supervisor or management
- Maintain awareness of current sales and promotions
- Manage cash flow and handle all types of payments including cash, bank cards, vouchers, and loyalty rewards
- Process returns and exchanges as authorised
- Handle loyalty card programmes including partnerships with Discovery Health Care, Momentum Multiply, ABSA Rewards, and others
- Follow Dis-Chem’s SOPs for cash handling and security
- Monitor and report suspicious activity to management
- Address customer queries regarding store merchandise
- Maintain the integrity of till operations by preventing fraud and ensuring accuracy
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in cashier/till operations
- Basic computer skills (MS Office proficiency)
- Sound numerical skills
- Strong command of English (spoken and written)
- Basic customer service abilities
- Willing and able to work retail hours

- Expertise in operating cash registers and managing cash drawers
- Knowledge of processing sales, refunds, and payments
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Presentable and professional appearance
