About the Position

As a Cashier at Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Claremont, you will play a critical role in ensuring a world-class shopping experience at the point of sale. You will be responsible for accurately recording customer transactions, supporting front-line service, and maintaining high standards of security and accuracy at the till.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures
• Establish professional relationships with customers
• Handle customer complaints and compliments appropriately
• Maintain awareness of current sales and promotions
• Manage cash flow and process all transactions (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons)
• Process loyalty cards and partner programme rewards
• Conduct merchandise exchanges and returns as authorised
• Ensure proper handling of daily takings and secure all cash in the drop safe
• Monitor and report suspicious behaviour to store management
• Maintain till accuracy and prevent fraud risks
• Assist with customer queries regarding store merchandise
• Adhere to company security policies and procedures

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Minimum 6 months of cashier/till operations experience
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office)
• Sound numerical skills
• Strong command of English (spoken and written)
• Basic customer service skills
• Willingness and ability to work retail hours
