Job Overview

The Youth Employment Service (YES) internship provides unemployed youth with meaningful workplace experience within Eskom’s Water and Environmental Operations Department. Successful candidates will be placed on a 12-month contract where they will gain exposure to professional work environments, develop valuable administrative and workplace skills and receive guidance from experienced professionals. The programme is designed to improve employability while helping participants build confidence, communication skills and practical business experience. Key Responsibilities

• Support daily administrative and operational activities within the department.
• Assist with general office administration and record keeping.
• Maintain accurate documentation and departmental records.
• Follow Eskom policies, procedures and workplace standards.
• Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders.
• Provide support to departmental projects and operational activities.
• Complete assigned duties accurately and within required deadlines.

Requirements and Skills

• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must be between 18 and 34 years of age.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Must not have been permanently employed by one employer for more than one continuous year.
• Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment.
• Must not have previously participated in or registered for the YES programme.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
