Job Overview
The Creditors Assistant will support the finance department by managing creditor administration, processing financial documentation and maintaining accurate supplier records. The role involves capturing invoices, preparing reconciliations, resolving supplier queries and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial procedures. You will work closely with the Accountant to support daily financial operations while contributing to continuous process improvements. This position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
• Process credit applications accurately and within required timeframes
• Prepare and maintain all creditor-related documentation
• Capture purchase invoices and credit notes accurately
• Perform general administrative duties, including filing and archiving financial records
• Compile and reconcile creditor accounts
• Resolve supplier and creditor queries professionally and efficiently
• Ensure all documentation complies with company policies and legal requirements
• Update and maintain vendor information accurately
• Support the Accountant with daily financial administration and reporting
• Maintain organised and audit-ready financial records
• Contribute to improving finance and administrative processes
• Meet deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy
Requirements and Skills
• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification
• Experience in a financial environment will be advantageous
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills
• Computer literacy
• Ability to add value to existing financial processes
• Ability to perform well in a high-pressure environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
