The Johnathan Andrews Academy was established in 2007 and has grown into a respected training provider in photography, video production, graphic design, website development and professional make-up.
We are in search of a unique individual who will be responsible for new business generation at our premises in Edenvale, Greenstone.
The position entails the following:
- Facilitating course enquiries from prospective students (of all ages and walks of life). We receive daily telephonic, email and walk-in enquiries which need to be dealt with.
- At times there will be a lot of e-mail correspondence which needs to be done when discussing course details and options with students, you therefore have to have a sound ability to communicate in writing, as well as verbally.
- Advising prospective students on various course options and assisting during the course enrollment process.
- Working out payment plans and course schedules for new students.
- Many of our students enroll for a first course and end up enrolling for many subsequent courses – this is achieved through the nature of the professional relationships that we develop with our students. You are required to be able to not only develop new business, but establish lasting relationships with customers which will lead to more business.
- Our largest and most established training courses are in photography and the ideal candidate has to have knowledge of photographic equipment and basic photographic experience.
Basic salary and commission
- The ideal candidate is a goal driven go-getter and sales performance is rewarded with attractive commissions.
- During the initial period a basic salary of R5,000 is paid and commissions monthly can exceed R15,000.
- After three months the basic salary and commission scale will be revised based on sales performance.

Requirements
You must:
- be computer literate and able to use Excell, Word and Outlook
- have a professional command of English (written and spoken)
- client service experience
- sales experience
- excellent communication and presentation skills
- be very organised and have a systematic approach to your work
- be able to do your work neatly and accurately
- be good with figures
- be able to work in a team as well as independently without supervision
Essential background/skills:
Our largest and most established training courses are in photography and the ideal candidate has to have knowledge of photographic equipment and basic photographic experience. Photographic proficiency includes being able to use a digital slr camera in the manual mode and basic experience in flash photography and studio photography.
