About the Role
As an Electrical Assistant, your main responsibilities will involve physically demanding tasks related to electrical installations, trenching, and site preparation. You’ll be supporting skilled electricians and the operations team across multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes but is not limited to the following duties:
- Digging trenches and holes, planting poles, and laying electrical cables
- Chasing and cutting walls and floors for conduit installation
- Stripping redundant electrical installations
- Cleaning office and worship areas
- Assisting with the installation of flush and surface-mounted wireways
- Installing cables, including fitting glands and securing cables (but excluding electrical connections)
- Preparing refreshments as required on site
- Performing general site work, including trenching and equipment setup
This is a physically demanding role that requires resilience, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions in a team-oriented setting.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Electrical Assistant role, candidates must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- High level of trustworthiness and ethical conduct
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor
- Willingness to travel to different sites
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
