Job Purpose
The Clinic Receptionist will be responsible for attending to patients in person and over the phone, coordinating appointments, and managing documentation. The role supports healthcare staff and ensures a high standard of patient care and service delivery.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• South African citizen.
• Clear criminal and credit record.
• Dedicated work station with the ability to sit for most of the day.
• Valid driver’s license and/or own reliable transport.

Key Responsibilities

• Register patients according to standard procedures.
• Assist patients in completing medical forms and insurance documentation.
• Maintain clinical equipment, stationery, and medication supplies.
• Manage and update patient records with accurate information.
• Process medical aid payments.
• Coordinate patient flow according to appointment schedules.
• Obtain medical reports when required.
• Keep the reception area clean while ensuring patient privacy.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and follow Dis-Chem telephone standards.
• Provide accurate and relevant information to callers.
• Confirm details to ensure correct message transfer.
• Direct calls and messages to the correct staff member.
• Assist walk-in guests with meeting arrangements or deliveries.
• Respond to emergencies and assist patients in distress.
• Advise on and assist with medical aid authorization procedures.
• Follow up with patients regarding any feedback requests.
