Stock Controller Opportunity at Transpharm – Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal
Are you detail-oriented with a knack for managing inventory and warehouse operations? Transpharm is seeking a dedicated Stock Controller to join their team in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. This permanent role is vital to maintaining optimal stock levels and ensuring smooth operations within the Distribution Centre.
Job Purpose
The primary objective of the Stock Controller is to ensure optimum stock levels are maintained at all times while facilitating smooth coordination with departmental heads when necessary. You will drive compliance with warehouse procedures and ensure accurate stock take results, supporting overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement supervisors’ instructions to maintain staff productivity
- Ensure staff compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and warehouse best practices
- Manage storage capacity efficiently within your designated department
- Enforce the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation system
- Monitor and investigate inventory discrepancies promptly
- Maintain daily cycle counts and ensure no stock remains on hold
- Oversee bi-yearly stock takes and prepare accordingly for smooth execution
- Support and facilitate stock take preparations to streamline counting processes
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification is required
- Previous experience in stock control or warehouse management is highly advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse operating systems is beneficial
Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate with ability to use warehouse management software
- Ability to work under deadlines with high attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills to coordinate teams effectively
