Cape Town’s Premium Business Centre seeks a Manager
It is the primary responsibility of the Business Centre Manager to ensure the complete coordination of all conference meetings, working closely with the client to ensure successful planning, set-up, and service. If you are a dynamic and highly organized individual with entrepreneurial attributes this is an exciting opportunity for you.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Assumes the role of the main point of communication between the client and all departments within the business both in pre-planning and on-site
- Manages assigned operational functions within the business consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the property
- Manages the delivery and measurement of guest service consistent with the company core service standards and brand attributes
- Work directly with clients on room set-up, cost and billing details and other requirements pertinent to their event
- Ensures that necessary meeting facilities are reserved where applicable
- Source prospective clients, working with the sales team to promote the business
- Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction
- Performs all job-related duties as assigned, and lend a hand where needed
- Create function sheets, invoices, and conferencing packages
- Strategize with owner and sales team to set goals and the execution thereof
- Update data bases and keep record of members, monthly invoicing of membership packages
- Market and approach potential clients to ensure growth of the business
Education:
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
- Three+ years work experience in medium size convention/conference/events business
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport
Personal requirements:
- Excellent communication skills/ bilingual
- Proactive, decisive, innovative, creates support from others and is devoted to quality
- Client focused with market orientation
- Solid financial and business acumen
- Has strategic insight and is strong at planning and implementation
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Ability to problem solve quickly
- Tradeshow experience advantageous
- Well-groomed, presentable and professional manner
