Quick and skilful ‘word artist’ wanted to join our young team of proficient online writers.
The main purpose of the role is to produce exclusive, relevant, compelling and factually correct online content on a daily basis for our three websites – focused on investing, natural health and business.
Your ability to write skilfully and quickly and uncover the interesting, the unusual, the shocking, the funny and the scandalous in these areas without leaving your desk will guarantee you an interview and potentially a position in a ‘never be bored again’ environment.

Fleet Street Publications (FSP) is South Africa’s largest subscriptions based newsletter publisher in the investment, health and business finance, personnel and work safety fields.
Readers include private investors, people interested in natural health and business managers and owners operating in the health and safety, tax, accounting, labour and HR fields.
FSP is part of the international publishing group Agora.
Requirements
You will be required to:
– Source hot topics of interest daily and digest into SEO optimised and relevant online content for our investment, health and business portals
– Rewrite and optimise relevant topic specific offline content for use online
– Generate product ideas for the product managers to develop new products based on reader interest and traffic to your content.
– Editing and/or rewriting question and answer type case studies for use online
– Conceptualise, oversee and coordinate all your own content
– Proof reading to ensure copy is accurate, of the highest quality and in keeping with house style, flow and tone
– Do final proofreading of other pages when required
– Build online relationships within the various regulatory investment, health and business institutional bodies so that we stay on top of law changes and breakthroughs in the industries we operate in.
– Correspond with industry and subscribers
Personal skills/attributes
A tertiary qualification in languages, journalism or related profession
– At least two years’ experience in journalism, preferably at an established online newspaper, website or online magazine
– A solid command of the English language – written and spoken
– Good communication skills
– A nose for news and what readers want
– Proficient in relevant computer software packages and applications;
– Questioning and listening skills
– The ability to work independently
– Resilient
– Able to work under extreme pressure and to strict deadlines
– Good time management and the ability to multitask effectively and follow through
– Proven writing and copy editing skills
– Knowledge of SEO and social media content creation
– Self motivated, efficient, reliable, focused and fast-working
