WATER AND WASTE SERVICES – BULK SERVICES
PRINCIPAL PROFESSIONAL OFFICER
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1 062 055 TO R1 476 972 PER ANNUM – REF NO: WS 82/22 – WATER AND SANITATION HEAD OFFICE, BELLVILLE
Requirements:
- BSc Civil Engineering OR BEng Civil Engineering OR BTech Civil Engineering
- Registration as Professional Engineer/Technologist with ECSA would be an advantage
- Design, procurement and contract/project management experience at a senior level in the technical/ engineering field, preferably with a focus on stormwater and river system infrastructure (minimum eight (8) years)
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the application and administration of the MFMA, SCM Regulations and standard Forms of Contract (CIDB), in particular GCC 2015
- Valid driver’s licence.
Key performance areas:
- Identify, define and undertake immediate, short- and long-term planning associated with catchment, stormwater and river infrastructure upgrades and expansion
- Preparation of engineering designs, specifications and drawings for major/minor capital infrastructure projects
- Prepare procurement and construction documentation, confirm and implement the procurement strategies and procedures for effective and timeous procurement of necessary resources for execution of projects.
- Management of multi-disciplinary project teams for investigations, design, project management, contract administration, construction supervision, commissioning and hand-over of major/minor capital infrastructure projects; upgrades of present infrastructure and operational driven technical projects
- Prepare capital and operating budgets and manage and control expenditure against the approved budget allocations, in compliance with MFMA and Corporate Directives
- Disseminate functional, planning, project implementation and operational information
- Ensure correct and efficient communication with internal and external stakeholders.
