Applications Open for Sales / Order Administrator Position at Afrimat Aggregates (KZN) in Durban

Afrimat Aggregates (KZN) (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications for a Sales / Order Administrator position at its Durban Regional Office. This is a fixed-term contract (FTC) opportunity suitable for individuals with strong administrative skills and a passion for customer service within the construction materials industry.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, applicants must have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate and/or relevant administrative experience. Previous experience in a call centre environment and within the aggregates or construction materials industry will be considered an advantage.

Candidates should have reliable transport and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, attention to detail, and computer literacy. Additional qualities include strong listening skills, flexibility, the ability to work well in a team, and a proactive approach to tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient processing of customer orders and maintaining excellent service standards. Duties include:

  • Distributing emails and managing incoming queries
  • Answering telephones quickly and professionally
  • Providing prospective customers with basic product information on aggregates
  • Taking telephonic orders and scheduling them on X3 Sage, ensuring all customer details are accurate
  • Processing orders received from sales consultants and via email
  • Creating new customer profiles on X3 Sage
  • Pricing tenders according to bill of quantities specifications
  • Preparing pro-forma invoices for cash customers to secure correct payments
  • Managing delivery tolerances for timely order fulfilment
  • Attending to walk-in customers, including quoting, payment processing, and order placement
  • Applying customer discounts as per the company’s discount matrix
  • Conducting customer follow-ups on issued quotations
  • Scheduling orders efficiently to maximize truck utilisation
  • Following all workplace safety protocols
  • Demonstrating honesty, responsibility, teamwork, and a strong work ethic
