Woolworths is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Store Specialist: Bakery to join its team in Cape Town. Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing deli and takeaway foods, including rotisserie chicken, and providing excellent service to deli customers. As part of the bakery section, you’ll also ensure that displays are fully stocked, fresh, and visually appealing, contributing to the overall Woolworths in-store experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of hot foods and deli items, especially rotisserie chicken
- Maintain attractive product displays and keep the counter stocked
- Follow correct stock rotation procedures to ensure freshness
- Meet Woolworths hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times
- Complete necessary documentation such as temperature logs and calibration records
- Use your product knowledge to assist and upsell to customers
- Identify and remove waste promptly and effectively
Who Should Apply?
Candidates should ideally meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4 qualification preferred)
- Experience in a deli, bakery, catering, or food-handling environment is beneficial
- High attention to hygiene and food safety
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
