Young Professional-in-Training (Environmental Management) at Transnet

Position Purpose
Transnet Corporate Centre and Academy is inviting dynamic, recently qualified graduates to join a two-year Young Professional-in-Training programme. The 24-month programme provides structured workplace experience, exposure to various functions, and mentorship to develop practical skills in environmental management.

Position Outputs
As a Young Professional-in-Training, you will:

  • Shadow staff members and participate in learning experiences.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and gain exposure to different organizational functions.
  • Communicate with customers to understand their needs, urgency, and provide regular updates on progress.
  • Address queries in a satisfactory and timely manner.
  • Provide general administrative, research, and operational assistance.
  • Take work briefs and instructions from mentors or specialists to structure tasks and produce deliverables.
  • Execute project tasks efficiently both individually and collaboratively.
  • Produce quality work that contributes to project solutions for clients.

Qualifications and Experience

  • National Diploma or BCom Degree in Environmental Management or related field.
  • 0–1 year of relevant work experience.
  • South African citizen, aged between 18 and 35 years.

Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
