MCE Electric is inviting applications for a Warehouse Picker and Packer position in Durban North, KwaZulu-Natal. This is a permanent entry-level opportunity within the company’s Warehouse Operations business unit and distribution function. The role is suited to an organised, detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual who would like to build experience in warehouse operations within a leading industrial electrical products company.

The Warehouse Picker and Packer will play an important role in ensuring that customer and business orders are prepared accurately and efficiently. The position involves picking products from warehouse shelves according to order requirements, receiving and inspecting incoming stock, and ensuring products are correctly stored and organised. The successful candidate will also contribute to inventory management, stock rotation and maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse environment.

This warehouse opportunity requires someone who is comfortable working in a physically active environment and able to remain accurate while handling stock. Candidates should have a National Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4, with previous warehouse, picking or packing experience preferred. Strong organisational skills, communication abilities and a willingness to work as part of a team will be important in supporting the daily operations of the MCE Electric warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick items from warehouse shelves according to order specifications while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Receive, unpack and inspect incoming stock to confirm its accuracy and quality.
• Accurately shelve products and maintain an organised warehouse storage system.
• Ensure products are stored correctly and are easy to locate when required.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised packing and shelving area.
• Assist with inventory management activities and stock rotation.
• Support the broader warehouse team with additional operational tasks as required.
• Follow workplace procedures and contribute to the efficient movement and handling of stock.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly warehouse environment that supports smooth distribution operations.

Requirements and Skills

• National Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4.
• Previous experience in warehouse operations, picking or packing will be preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organisational and stock-handling skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy stock when required.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform physically active warehouse duties, including standing, walking and lifting for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely and responsibly while handling warehouse stock and equipment.
• Willingness to work in an environment with varying temperatures and comply with PPE requirements.
