As a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide pharmaceutical care, ensuring patients receive accurate and professional support for their medicine-related needs. Working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will play a key role in daily dispensary operations and customer service.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- Experience with Unisolv
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong communication skills in English and at least one additional language
- Willingness to work retail hours
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Knowledge of retail or FMCG operations
- Third additional language
- Familiarity with SAP and E-Scripting
- Background in drug, family planning, or complementary medicine
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the sale and preparation of Schedule 1 to Schedule 6 medicines
- Interpreting and capturing prescription details
- Providing medication instructions to patients
- Ensuring accurate labelling and packaging of prescriptions
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, receiving, and inventory checks
- Handling medical aid claims, authorisations, and paperwork
- Maintaining and updating patient profiles
- Advising customers at the dispensary, front shop, and self-medication counter
