Young Professional-in-Training Opportunity at Transnet TPT POD Corporate H/O, Richards Bay

Transnet TPT POD Corporate H/O is inviting applications for the position of Young Professional-in-Training in Richards Bay. This trainee role offers recent graduates practical exposure across customer services, administrative functions, and project work. Candidates will gain hands-on experience while developing professional skills under the guidance of senior staff.

Position Purpose

As a Young Professional-in-Training, you will:

  • Shadow various staff members and participate in learning experiences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Gain exposure to multiple working functions to understand operational processes.
  • Communicate with customers to clarify needs, determine urgency, and provide regular updates.
  • Ensure queries are addressed promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Provide general administrative, research, and support services.
  • Take work briefs from Mentors or Specialists and structure tasks to deliver specific outcomes.
  • Execute project tasks effectively both individually and collaboratively.
  • Produce high-quality work that contributes to project solutions for clients.

Position Outputs

The role includes:

  • Continuous learning through shadowing and participation in various functions.
  • Effective communication with customers to understand and meet their requirements.
  • Timely handling of queries.
  • Administrative and research support to teams.
  • Execution of project tasks efficiently with attention to detail.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have:

  • Degree, BCom, or Diploma in Marketing.
  • 0–1 year of relevant work experience.
  • South African citizenship.
  • Age between 18 and 35 years.

Competencies

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
