Job Overview and Responsibilities
• Restock shelves to ensure products are always available for customers
• Receive, unpack, and store stock correctly in storerooms and on shelves
• Apply FIFO principles to manage product expiry dates
• Maintain full product ranges and ensure shelves stay well stocked
• Monitor and report low stock, damaged stock, and expired products
• Assist with stock counts, stocktakes, and inventory control tasks
• Follow store planograms and merchandising layouts accurately
• Ensure shelves are clean, neat, labelled, and correctly priced
• Build and maintain promotional and seasonal displays
• Report pricing errors and stock discrepancies to management
• Assist with loading and offloading stock deliveries when required
• Support back shopping and general stock movement between areas
• Handle products carefully to reduce loss and damage
• Assist customers with basic queries in a helpful and professional manner
• Follow up on out of stock customer requests through internal systems
• Assist in training new staff on merchandising standards and procedures
• Maintain daily housekeeping and store presentation standards
• Follow all health, safety, and retail operating procedures at all times
Requirements and Skills
• Grade 12 or Matric
• Up to 6 months retail experience, 1 year preferred
• Basic computer literacy in MS Office
• Strong communication skills in English
• Physically fit to lift and move stock safely
• Ability to work retail shifts including weekends and holidays
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in merchandising
• Good time management and reliability
• Honest, trustworthy, and customer focused approach
• Ability to follow instructions and store procedures
• Basic understanding of FMCG retail and stock handling (advantageous)
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced store environment
