One of our clients a Johannesburg based media agency is looking to fill a senior media strategist position.
The senior media strategist’s role is to oversee the strategic media planning process and be the day to day media steward on all issues related to assigned media campaigns. The senior media strategist is fully engaged in the complete planning and activation process, from RFP development and plan presentation to campaign implementation and management, working with a supporting media team of planners and assistant planners.
The senior media strategist is required to develop and maintain an intimate knowledge of their clients’ business and ensure that all client media requirements are executed in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, writing and analytic skills; be an active learner and engaged teammate who is willing to lead, and have a strong background in traditional media platforms.
Develop and lead sound, strategic media plans based on client marketing direction and the use of media research
Possess the ability to clearly and persuasively present media plans in written presentations and face-to-face to peers and clients
To be able to listen well, to clients and internal teams, and synthesise information accurately and efficiently to guide campaign development and execution
Ability to absorb many details, while keeping focus of the big picture; ability to prioritise and re-prioritise many tasks at once
Ability to manage a team, as well as manage intimate client relationships
Activate on client needs for print, OOH, TV and digital
Manage the flow of client media-related issues based on changes in direction, goals and budgets
