Job description

An exciting opening for a creative lead has become available. The role requires the successful candidate to lead a team of Graphic Designers driving concepts and visual design deliverables in custom e-learning and blended learning solutions. The candidate will oversee multiple projects, provide solutions, and drive creative teamwork.  You will act as mentor and inspire the team to push creative boundaries. You will required to manage client relations and business needs.

Requirements of the role:

  • Lead creative sessions for project kick-offs
  • Formulate concepts that support the brands and custom e-learning in line with budget and brief
  • Do presentations, pitches and proposals
  • Work closely with Instructional designers, developers and the business development team to develop concepts and present to management and client
  • Establish creative direction for the team who will work from concept to completion
  • Keep teams of designers inspired and ensure that creative output adheres to client brand standards and client brief/expectations
  • Ensure internal and external client satisfaction
  • Provide quality control over concepts and projects
  • Manage teams, timelines and projects within budgets
  • Establish, maintain and evolve the design process and ensure the creative team have the necessary resources
  • Keep abreast with new creative technologies
  • Encourage continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability
  • Ensure consistent creative quality is maintained
  • Performance management

 

Qualifications required

The ideal person will possess the following essential qualifications and proficiencies:

  • Recognised Graphic Design qualification in Visual Communication: Degree/Diploma
  • A portfolio revealing high quality design competence
  • Technologies
    • Adobe Creative Suite: -InDesign – Illustrator – Photoshop – Flash experience would be advantageous
    • Microsoft Office: -PowerPoint – Word – Outlook

Requirements

The successful candidate must have /be:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in graphic design for learning – working with story-boards, working with print/repro houses. Ensuring high standard of creative and visual design in end product.
  • People and project management experience
  • Knowledge of layout, typography, photography, illustration and graphic fundamentals; understanding of online and web application highly advantageous; have the ability to storyboard or translate ideas to designers and developers
  • Print capabilities – working in custom e-learning and blended learning solutions ; web design capabilities highly advantageous – using this medium for custom e-learning and blended learning solutions
  • Ability to lead projects from concept to completion, applying best practice across print and online.
  • Fluency with software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Flash
  • Ability to make evaluative judgments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organise and problem-solve
  • Detailed-orientated
  • Team oriented
  • Able to follow written and listen to verbal instructions
  • Ability to analyse and objectively give and receive feedback
