An Essential Role in Retail Pharmacy

The Locum Pharmacist will be entrusted with managing MediRite pharmacies located inside selected Shoprite, Checkers, and Checkers Hyper stores. This role goes beyond dispensing medicine; it encompasses taking full responsibility for the pharmacy’s operations while on duty.

Duties include:

• Acting as the responsible pharmacist, ensuring compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice standards.
• Adhering to ethical and legal requirements as outlined by statutory bodies.
• Conducting patient counselling and providing pharmaceutical care.
• Performing drug interventions where necessary.
• Overseeing day-to-day store operations, including supervising staff and maintaining service standards.
• Working efficiently on Unisolve pharmacy software.
• Managing cash handling and banking tasks.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

To qualify for the role, candidates must hold a BPharm degree or equivalent, be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council, and provide proof of professional indemnity insurance. Experience in a retail pharmacy is advantageous.

Ideal candidates will also bring:

• Sound dispensing knowledge.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical ordering systems.
• Strong administrative and stock control capabilities.
