About the Role

As a Health Merchandiser, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining Dis-Chem’s merchandising standards and delivering outstanding customer service. From keeping shelves fully stocked to resolving product queries, your role is to support smooth in-store operations and ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification
• Up to 6 months’ experience in a retail environment
• Basic computer skills (MS Office)
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Advantageous:

• A diploma or degree in a Health Focus category
• At least 1 year of retail experience

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Restocking merchandise in line with store needs and sales trends
• Ensuring products are neatly presented, correctly labeled, and priced
• Handling deliveries and ensuring stock is packed and shelved promptly
• Maintaining accurate stock rotation (FIFO) to reduce waste and expired items
• Assisting with stock counts and general store housekeeping
• Building and maintaining clean, visually appealing merchandising displays
• Resolving customer queries and ensuring excellent service
• Supporting with back shopping and general in-store logistics

• Fluent in English and confident in communication
• Well-groomed and presentable
• Honest, dependable, and a team player
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• Friendly, helpful, and customer-oriented

Preferred Competencies:

• Bilingual communication
• Knowledge of merchandising and FMCG products
• Familiarity with SAP, Unisolv, or ZMORE reporting systems
• Ability to identify and report suspicious activity

Special Working Conditions

Candidates must be:

• Willing and physically able to lift and handle stock safely
• Available for flexible retail hours
• Living near or having reliable transport to the Fourways store
• A South African citizen with a clean credit and criminal record
