About the Role
As a Cashier, you’ll be on the front lines of customer service, ensuring each transaction is accurate, efficient, and conducted with a friendly attitude. Your responsibilities will include operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling various forms of payment, maintaining the cleanliness of your workspace, and providing excellent service throughout the checkout process.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases quickly and accurately using the till and scanner
• Receive and handle all forms of payments, including cash, cards, and refunds
• Prepare and manage the cash float and balance the till at the end of shifts
• Prevent losses by monitoring shrinkage, damages, and wastage
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the cashier area
• Adhere to company security and hygiene procedures
• Upsell additional products or services where appropriate
• Respond to customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
• Operate and clean all point-of-sale equipment as per company standards

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum education: Grade 10 (Grade 12 is advantageous)
• Basic computer literacy is advantageous
• Ability to communicate clearly in English
• Strong numeracy and time management skills
• Customer service orientation with ethical behavior and flexibility
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow process instructions
