Job Overview

The Shop Assistant Cashier is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while accurately processing sales transactions at the point of sale. The role includes handling cash, promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme, assisting with merchandising and maintaining high standards of store presentation. Successful candidates will also help customers with product information, support promotional activities and ensure shelves remain well stocked and organised. Key Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently at the point of sale
• Handle cash and payment transactions securely and responsibly
• Promote the Clicks ClubCard programme and assist customers with new registrations
• Inform customers about current promotions and special offers
• Deliver friendly, professional and efficient customer service
• Assist with merchandising and product replenishment
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the store
• Ensure shelves are neat, fully stocked and correctly displayed
• Provide customers with accurate information on products and promotions
• Support the company’s vision of delivering outstanding health and beauty retail services
• Follow store policies and operational procedures at all times
• Work effectively as part of the retail team to achieve store objectives

Requirements and Skills

• Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
• Mathematics 50% and English 50% at Matric level will be advantageous
• Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or FMCG environment is beneficial
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
• Basic computer literacy
• Planning and organisational skills
• Problem-solving ability
• Strong customer-focused approach
• Understanding of merchandising and stock management principles is advantageous
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy retail environment
• Ability to work effectively within a team while following company procedures
