  • Manages and coordinates the news diary
  • Produces quality and exclusive news content that generates national conversation
  • Develops story ideas on an ongoing basis
  • Repackages, rewrites and edits news content from multiple sources
  • Grooms and nurtures junior journalists
  • Leads the paper’s investigations
  • Represents the newspaper in various capacities when required by the editor

  • A three or four year qualification in journalism
  • Minimum of five years’ experience on a mainstream daily or weekend newspaper
  • Experience acquired on both weekend and daily publications will be an added advantage
  • A thorough knowledge of journalistic ethics and media law
  • Experience in news diary management
  • A track record in news reporting and feature writing
  • Knowledge of current affairs
  • A commitment to high quality journalism
  • Experience in working within a team
  • A valid driver’s licence

  • Above average command of the English language
