Pick n Pay is hiring a full-time Local Cashier for its Kenridge store in the Western Cape. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while efficiently managing transactions and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Job Purpose
The Local Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions using the POS system, handling cash, giving refunds, and balancing the till. The role also includes upselling products, resolving complaints, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage the cash float
- Operate the till and scanner accurately and quickly
- Receive and process all forms of payment
- Prevent stock wastage, shrinkage, and damages
- Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards
- Interact courteously with customers and respond to queries
- Operate and clean equipment according to company standards
- Upsell products and services where appropriate
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Grade 10 (Grade 12 advantageous)
- Computer literacy is an advantage
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
