Data Capturer (TB/HIV Care Association) Opportunity
TB/HIV Care Association in partnership with the Department of Correctional Services requires committed and energetic individuals with a clear criminal record to join our programme in our Correctional Services Facilities within the Eastern Cape. The working environment and conditions of employment are in line with those of a correctional services facility.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate (Matric)
- Computer literacy (Ms Office)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in data capturing and database management
- Ability to file patients’ records systematically
- Ability to communicate well in English, isiXhosa and any other South African language
- Clear criminal record
- Possession of Access or District Health Information Systems (DHIS) or Tier .NET Data Management Computer programme certificate will be an added advantage
Key Performance Area:
- Daily retrieving of patients’ files, daily collection of inmates’ raw data from all relevant correctional centres registers
- Capturing of inmates’ raw data within the specified time frames
- Verification of TB and HIV program data for consistency, completeness and accuracy and submit statistical reports when required
- Liaise with Professional Nurses and the Centre Manager on TB and HIV program data management issues
- Support the Correctional Service Centres Manager to compile the monthly and quarterly data
- Systematic daily filing of patients’ inmates records including blood results
- Responsible for the supervision of the HAST Counsellors within your management area
- Maintain the role of being the custodian of data, ensuring strict confidentiality of inmates medical file
- Form part of the multidisciplinary team in adherence compliance
- Collect and collate data relevant to the and HIV program’s goals, working closely with the TB and HIV Coordinators of Correctional centres
- Update HIV care and TB suspect and treatment registers on a daily basis
- Data cleaning, editing and maintenance of database at correctional centres on newly diagnosed TB and HIV inmates
- Ensure linkages are created and maintained between correctional centres and inmates by capturing incoming clinical data on inmates TB screened from courts and health care facilities records whilst maintaining strict confidentiality
- Report to the Operational Manager at the Correctional Centre which you are based
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS, TB and STI’s programs
- Data capturing skills
- Good numeracy and communication skills
