Eskom, one of South Africa’s leading power utilities, is currently hiring for the position of Technician Electrical – MWP within their Gauteng Cluster. This exciting role is based in the Asset Creation – Network Planning Department and offers a fantastic opportunity for technically skilled individuals to contribute to the country’s power infrastructure.

About the Position

The Technician Electrical role focuses on providing technical services for engineering designs and asset care. This permanent, internal vacancy falls under Task Grade T11 and is based in South Africa, Gauteng.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following educational and training criteria:

  • National Diploma or National N Diploma in Engineering (NQF6 with 240 credits).
  • Completion of P1 and P2 practical training.

No professional body registration is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

As a Technician Electrical, your main duties will include:

  1. Providing technical services related to electrical engineering.
  2. Developing professional designs to support projects and operations.
  3. Ensuring the integrity of Eskom’s asset base, contributing to long-term infrastructure reliability.
  4. Delivering standardized engineering outputs aligned with Eskom’s quality standards.
  5. Consulting on discipline-specific issues to provide expert guidance within the business unit.
