Pick n Pay is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Cashier to join their Diep River 3 Arts store in the Western Cape. This full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to work in a team-driven environment where commitment and enthusiasm are valued.
Job Purpose
You will process transactions efficiently using the POS system, handle cash and refunds, balance the till, and maintain a clean and organized working environment. The role also involves upselling products, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage the cash float.
- Operate the till and scanner accurately and quickly during customer checkouts.
- Receive and process all forms of payment.
- Prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages.
- Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards.
- Follow and uphold security procedures.
- Operate and clean equipment according to company standards.
- Interact with customers courteously and respond to queries efficiently.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum Grade 10 required; Grade 12 advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy advantageous.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Strong numeracy and time management skills.
- Customer orientation and execution of process instructions.
- Ethical behavior and flexibility in performing duties.
Work Environment and Location
- Fully on-site position at Diep River 3 Arts, Western Cape.
- Full-time work schedule.
