Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Buyer with sourcing and acquiring TV and audio products and services.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate product and inventory information.
  • List new products and delist discontinued products on relevant systems.
  • Maintain pricing and stock condition information.
  • Use SAP and Akeneo to generate, monitor and analyse sales and stock reports.
  • Assist with reviewing inventory information to support buying and merchandising decisions.
  • Support supplier return processes and related administration.
  • Assist with managing the financial performance of the assigned product portfolio.
  • Contribute towards monthly turnover and profit budgets.
  • Assist with identifying new products and potential suppliers.
  • Research products and suppliers to improve competitiveness.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and ensure company pricing remains market-related.
  • Assist with submitting advertising and promotional briefs within required deadlines.
  • Support marketing and promotional initiatives relating to the product portfolio.
  • Assist with monitoring sales performance and stock movement.
  • Provide administrative support across the buying function.
  • Visit stores to gather customer and store feedback where required.
  • Share relevant store feedback with the merchandise team.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a professional image when representing the business.

Requirements and Skills

  • Matric is required.
  • Diploma or degree in Buying, Procurement, Business or a related field will be advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of Akeneo.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic supply chain knowledge.
  • Understanding of a business operating model.
  • Knowledge of retail accounting will be advantageous.
