Cape Town’s Premium Business Centre seeks a Manager

It is the primary responsibility of the Business Centre Manager to ensure the complete coordination of all conference meetings, working closely with the client to ensure successful planning, set-up, and service. If you are a dynamic and highly organized individual with entrepreneurial attributes this is an exciting opportunity for you.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Assumes the role of the main point of communication between the client and all departments within the business both in pre-planning and on-site
  • Manages assigned operational functions within the business consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the property
  • Manages the delivery and measurement of guest service consistent with the company core service standards and brand attributes
  • Work directly with clients on room set-up, cost and billing details and other requirements pertinent to their event
  • Ensures that necessary meeting facilities are reserved where applicable
  • Source prospective clients, working with the sales team to promote the business
  • Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction
  • Performs all job-related duties as assigned, and lend a hand where needed
  • Create function sheets, invoices, and conferencing packages
  • Strategize with owner and sales team to set goals and the execution thereof
  • Update data bases and keep record of members, monthly invoicing of membership packages
  • Market and approach potential clients to ensure growth of the business

Education:

  • Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
  • Three+ years work experience in medium size convention/conference/events business
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport

  • Client focused with market orientation
  • Solid financial and business acumen
  • Has strategic insight and is strong at planning and implementation
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Ability to problem solve quickly
  • Tradeshow experience advantageous
  • Well-groomed, presentable and professional manner
