Role Overview
The Clinic Receptionist will manage the front desk of the clinic, attend to patients in person and over the phone, coordinate appointments, and ensure proper documentation. The role supports the smooth running of the clinic and contributes to quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients and ensure accurate patient records.
- Assist patients with medical forms, including insurance documentation.
- Monitor and maintain clinical equipment, stationery, and medication.
- Explain clinic procedures to patients and manage patient files.
- Process medical aid payments and coordinate patient flow according to schedule.
- Obtain medical reports when required and maintain a clean, organized reception area.
- Answer incoming calls promptly using proper telephone etiquette.
- Record and confirm caller details accurately and transfer messages to relevant staff.
- Assist walk-in patients, guests, and staff with meetings and deliveries.
- Provide relevant contact information to customers and follow up on queries.
- Respond to emergencies and advise patients regarding medical aid authorization procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Essential: Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- South African citizen.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Clear criminal and credit checks.
- Dedicated work station; desk-based role most of the day.
- Driver’s license and/or reliable transport is an advantage.
